Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The accomplished actress started her acting career in the theatre by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Acting has always been her obsession. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. Mumps made her lose hearing in one her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from following her dreams. In her teens she studied drama, and then moved into New York City. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came in the role of an actress playing the leading character Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles she has appeared involved in numerous series and television films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
