Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. The path to acting began in Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. She is a lover of acting ever since she was in high school. Her first role in a show in the fifth grade was as Helen Keller. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. When she was in college studying drama and moving into New York City with her ambitions in mind. In a chance encounter she was trapped in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which was Hunter's first performance. When she moved to Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role in Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in a number of movies, television shows and movies over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
