Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is known for her acclaimed performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her which included an Oscar. She began her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. From her early years she's been passionate about acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear. However, she didn't let this to stop her from becoming an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. Her first film role came when she moved from Los Angeles. Since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of television movies and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
